Hi Everybody!

I thought I would actually write this one instead of making a video because as I am sure many of you have seen (if you have watched any of the vlogs) I have a tendency to talk too much!

So… I just got home from the CCMA’s and wow what an amazing weekend!!!  Thank you to Edmonton for all of the hospitality! Actually it was my first time in the city and everyone warned me about the weather but it was great! And so was the shopping!

I will give you a run down for those who have never attended Country Music Week.

So here it as follows:

Thursday night was the kick off party sponsored by Big Valley Jamboree and I just had the best time.  The amazing Australian group Jetty Road performed as well as the incredible Chad Brownlee who was this year’s recipient of the New Artist Showcase, which happened later in the night.  What an amazing show that was.  The talent was so strong!  I cannot believe it was a year ago that I was a part of that.  Time flies when you are having fun!

Friday night I took the stage at “This Show is Free” which was the Universal Part  because duh duh duh dah! I am now a part of the 604/Universal family! That is my big news and I have been keeping it in for so long!  I am so thrilled to be working with such great people and now the work really starts!  Anyways, the show went well.  I wore a brand new dress that I think may have blinded people but I have a slight obsession with sequence!  High Valley, The Higgins, Ridley Bent and Doc Walker also took the stage and it was such a great night!

Saturday Jesse Tucker and I performed on the songwriter stage.  I remember three years ago at the CCMA’s I sat in the crowd and watched Victoria Banks share her songs and stories and I wondered what that would be like…. and now I know.  It was absolutely one of the best feelings I have ever had.  I have sang in front of people many times but to sing my own songs and be recognized as a writer was a whole new experience so a big thank you to Socan and Alannah and Brandi from the CCMA’s for making that happen.  Saturday night was the gala dinner and the band awards which was so much fun.  I just love dressing up! And it’s so nice to see everybody dressed to the nines! I actually don’t really know what that term means…. But I’m using it!

Now, one other amazing thing happened but I’m not sure if I am allowed to share it just yet so I have to be a bit careful.  I will just say that I was honored to be a part of it and will reveal it very shortly!

Sunday night was the award show and it was so great!  I got to sit third row with my friends The Higgins!  Who did the most amazing acapella song “Factory Girl”.  If you happened to have missed it, you can buy it on itunes, which I highly suggest you do!   It was so exciting to see One More Girl win!  Not only are they incredibly talented and beautiful but they are so nice and I am so glad they won!

All in all I had the time of my life.  I got to see old friends, and make some new ones and I just can’t wait for next year in Hamilton!  Well I better run and take Oscar for a walk but I will let you know very soon details about the release of the first single! I have been writing like crazy for the album and cannot wait to share it with you all!
